"6th International Batizado Capoeira Muzenza"
Capoeira Muzenza London is hosting our 6th International Batizado on Saturday 13th March 2010.
A batizado is the 'changing of belts', the grading of a capoeirista to prove they've earned it, and a fantastic show of skill, sport, acrobatics and music. We would like to invite you to come along and share this day with us, below is a short explanation of what will happen on the day:
Starting off with an introduction of our Masters and colleagues who fly over from teams all over the world to support us and celebrate with us. This is then followed by the batizado (the baptism for new capoeiristas) and their ceremony and an 'introductory game'. Students of higher grades will then 'play' their peers in a 'show' of skill and determination and receive their respective new belts. We end with an open roda where all students and capoeira guests can join in and celebrate with us with solo performances, vibrant music and singing and samba!
This is a great experience and an opportunity to come and watch and learn. It's open to all the public and the more the merrier!!!
Admission is free, and there will be a box at the entrance providing an opportunity for you to donate to our charity: Capoeira Academy UK.
